I am going to purchase a press so I can do my own bearings for rearends, etc. Is a six-ton bench press too small? I can't see getting an axle into one. My next option is a 12 ton floor press. The six ton is $100.00 and the 12 ton is $200.00. I'm leaning toward the 12 but have little experience here. Opinions? Thanks, Dave

Too much power is just enough. Whatever you buy, you'll always wish you got bigger. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Please remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, Osborn Reproductions, MyFordPerformance.com, and FordRamAir.com

What Steve said. Much easier to make 'bigger' do smaller than 'smaller' do bigger. One thing about presses is, tooling is just as important as being able to generate force. Things can get screwed up pretty quick if parts become just a little cocked.
