I started welding my floor pans into my '65 last week. I drilled 5/16" holes into the floor supports (which I replaces also). I started my weld on the pan and in circular motion worked outward to the floor support. It looks OK. I'm not building a thourogh breed though.

That's a good way to do it. Eastwood has spot weld guns that work well and also tong type resistance welders but the results are all about the same I believe.
