I'm going to be buying a mig welder & I am trying to decide which one of two. They are the Lincoln Weld Pak 100, or the Hobart Handler 135. What are your opinions?. Thanks Mike.------------------ Mike & Robin 65 Mustang Fastback 69 Mustang Coupe 87 LTD CV 96 Ranger Extd Cab PU 99 Explorer Sport M&M #- 890 MCA #- 04549

I've heard bad things about the Hobart, and nothing but good about the Lincoln.Did you look at the Lincoln Mig Pak 15? If you have 220v, it's a nice set. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 M code 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 open '72 Mustang Sprint Coupe 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Lok '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip '97 Probe GTS 2.5L DOHC Be American, Drive American!

The Millermatic, while perhaps a bit more, is WELL WORTH checking out. It's the one that I wished I bought. I have a Daytona Mig that runs on house current. Throws the breaker once in awhile but is quite trouble free. Whatever you buy, make sure that the wire spool is mounted vertically. I used a German made mig years ago with horizontal feed and it was prone to bird's nests. Opinion.

I've got the Millermatic 130 and have had no problems at all with it. It does a great job. I do recommend using shielding gas instead of flux cored wire. It gives a nicer weld. Just my opinion.------------------ 67convertible 289/auto 65fastback 302/4sp

I have the small Lincoln welder and it works well. I would highly reccomend that you step up to the Lincoln Pro-Mig it is only about $100 more. It has more amperage and is already set up for gas. If you buy the weldpac 100 and get the gas kit, you could have gotten the bigger welder for the same money. If you plan on using the welder on sheet metal you don't want to use the flux core models, definitely get the gas. Good luck, Tom
