I just bought a sand blaster from Sears. I am interested in blasting paint off my doors.

What type, grade, or whatever do you all reccomend? I've heard of something called "Black Beauty"...

Thanks!

Ralph, I used Black Beauty to start cleaning my doghouse. Leaves the metal somewhat textured and it is a very slow process. I ended up going to local body shops until I found someone they recommended. He used Sand but I only had him do the Engine Compartment, bottom of the car, Trunk Interior and Car Interior. He did a beautiful job. It cleaned everything $350.00 Well worth it. After he was done I sprayed car with Water based metal prep from Eastwood. It stopped the rust from coming back until I got it painted about 2 months. BUT, don't buy any I have way to much left over. I can send to you for shipping cost. I asked him about exterior, He uses plastic media, because sand will warp the sheet metal. Another $400 if I decide to use him, The plastic media he said is very expensive.

Fellas, thanks for the advice! I will try to find some plastic media...

I'll practice on a scrap door I have.
