I love good tools but I hate paying full price for them, unless I have to. I have searched the local pawn shops for bargains but their prices for well used tools are too close to the new catalog price.
I have stumbled upon Ebay.com, a source where if you are careful and do a little research you can find some good bargains. My advice is; get all the tool catalogs that you can find before you start.
Does anyone else have a good source for inexpensive brand name tools?

When I bought my 5.0 in '99, I was pretty excited because I had always wanted a car I could work on, upgrade, and supe-up a little (we always want more, don't we?? LOL!). Well, I knew I was gonna have to get some decent tools, and I couldn't afford new ones, so I turned to eBay. I found some killer deals, and have a basic set of sockets (sae & metric) in three different driver sizes, sae & metric combo wrenches, and some pliers. Just enough to get me in trouble, if ya know what I mean!

I have heard that estate sales are the way to go too. In fact, a lot of the tools sold on eBay are obtained from estate sales.

Garage sales sometimes are great. I recently bought 2 Snap-on screw drivers for 50 cents each. They were shot but that's what the Snap-on tool van is all about. Now they're new! Any lifetime tool can be a great buy if you trade it in.
