So not to damage my electrical system, how far away should I stay from any grounds to prevent feedback?

Some of my welding will be on the firewall to attach the fender aprons, and I don't want to hurt anything.

All I ever have been told was to disconnect the battery. Of course the heat will hurt electronics, but most of them can be moved temporarily out of the heat.

The arc will go to ground and that will be through the ground clamp on the welder, so get it as close to where you are welding as practical.

I'm concerned about backfeeding juice through the grounds.
