Hi, Were you looking to buy something you could just drop in or were you going to give it a once over?I have a 302 that was suppossedly a good running engine.I never heard it run myself but it looks pretty clean inside.Whenever I get a motor I always yank the heads,That way I can see how it looks inside, and it's lighter and easier to move.Anyhow I have this motor and I'm about 90 miles from you.I also go to N.J. Pretty frequently,I'm not sure where Middlesex is but I go to Toms River(exit 82 on the GSP).

I've got a 289 2v that is currently in my 68. It has been off the street for a while but I run it three or four times a month. The engine came with the car so I do not know the history behind it. It is very clean, however. If you would like I can run a compression check on it.I'd be willing to let it go for 250 bucks carb to oilpan, including the complete duraspark ignition. I could also meet you as far north as Baltimore or possibly Dover. Shoot me an email if you are interested. Chris

I never looked at your email address or put 2 and 2 together but I think you are the person that I?ve been talking to about the 351W I have. I gave the guy until Monday to pick it up (its been 6 months now) and he said if he doesn?t to put it back up for sale. Was running good other than a tick in the right rear valve cover until it was pulled. In between the snow this weekend I?ll pull the valve covers and investigate it further.Right now the intake is off and the engine is double wrapped in plastic, strapped to a pallet.

Thanks, fellas, I am interested in all. I am looking for something I can pretty much drop in after a short check up. Pony, What year motor is the 302? How complete is it? Can you crank it by hand? Middlesex is central Jersey close to 287, 78 and 22. Is the motor in NY or NJ?

I have a 351c in my 69. It runs awsome. It's out of a 73 mach1 with 2v heads. The heads have been fully ported and polished, the block is 40 over with a 600" cam. Very well taken care of and only has 4 passes on motor. I drive it about once a week in the summer just up the hill and back. Hate to get rid of it but need the money..

How good of a running engine are you looking for? I'm about to pull the 302 out of my 68 Fastback in Virginia Beach. I promised the 4-v intake and carb to my little sister, but we have a 2-v set-up we can put on it and still give it to you running. Last time I had the oil pan off I checked the bearings and they are definitely not looking new after over 80,000 miles on the rebuild. Valve job was done less than 10,000 miles ago. I'm pretty sure the block is 69 or 70, heads are 70, and all the front accessories are 66-68ish. Do you need everything carb to pan/fan to flywheel or just the longblock?Looks like about 350 miles your place to mine. I have a whole other block I'm working on to go back in, probably in about 10 years from now...

Sorry I wasn't closer to work a deal. If you get desperate, you can call me up some time and hear it run if you have the desire for an adrenaline pump to hold you over until you find one locally.
