 | posted 01-17-2005 01:03 PM 1 year old light weight C4 with all the aluminum light weight parts, reverse manual valve body, 2.75 1st gear, roller front to back, rollerized tail shaft, just freshened with new clutches and band. 0 passes since freshened. Very light and very fast. Pan fill. Have dip stick tube and bell housings for small block if you want them. Will fit behind an FE or 460 also with the correct bell housing. I used it on an FE and it worked great. Cost over $3K new. Sell for $2200 or best offer.

 | posted 01-28-2005 07:04 AM No brake. Not legal in the class I run. This is the lightest C4 you can buy. The whole tranny weighs less than 70 lb and most of that weight is dynamic weight. Reduced to $2000 obo.

 | posted 02-03-2005 12:39 PM Just thought I would add the only reason I am selling is that I am switching to a protrans C6. Tranny works perfect and is fast.
 Thanks

 | posted 02-03-2005 10:47 PM what kind of additional mods does this trans require, i.e., shifter? also is this a street friendly transmission, or race only?
p.s. I'm very close to Xenia, 15-2o minutes, I live in Centerville... IP: Logged |

 | posted 02-04-2005 07:38 AM You can use almost any shifter. I think Alex even uses a stock shifter if memory serves me correct. I currently have a cheetah shifter arm but many shifters will work with the correct arm. It is a reverse pattern however. It is really pretty much a race only tranny. Could be street driven but there are much cheaper alternatives. I could you build you a rollerized C4 with a stock gear set, drums, and manual valve body for around half the cost and it will handle over 500 hp easy. Let me know if you need one. I could build you one in a couple weeks. I have small block bell housings and either pan fill or case fill cores.
 Thanks
 Shawn

 | posted 02-07-2005 11:00 AM Still have this trans? Does this have an aluminum direct drum? What has Jim done to lighten this over his older non-lightweight units?
My trans is JPT, but was built 15+ years ago. Wondering what is new. I did have to replace the JPT valve body as it had horrible flair on the 2-3 shift. Do you have a shipping pallet for it? Thanks IP: Logged |
