I bought a set of Torque Thrust II rims with the understanding that if the didn't fit that I could bring them back. Well they no longer fit with the suspension I have (non-stock), so I went to take them back and guess what deals change once money exchanges hands. So brand new never seen a lug nut never had a tire mounted taken out of the box once American Eagle rims. I have two 17 x 8, 5 on 4.5, 4.5 backspace. And two 17 x 8, 5 on 4.5, 5.0 backspace. The rear rims have more backspace to fit the maximum amount of tire on a stock Mustang. (65-70) On a 65 Mustang you can fit 255 17's on the rear with these rims. Larger on the later years. I paid over $1,000.00 for the set. Will sell at a loss for $850.00 pics available E-mail me if interested

Reply to questions I recieved in an e-mail:I bought these for my car when I planned to have a stock suspension in my 65. By modified I mean seriously modified. I have a Mustang II suspension with Wilwood brakes that when combined moved the wheels outward 3/4" per side. I installed a Granada disc brake 9" rear axle that is an inch wider then the stock axle which pushed my rear tires out 1/2" per side. I need wheels with 5 1/2" backspacing now. There are wheel fitment charts on the internet that give recomended backspacing for Mustangs. Stock rims had 4.5 backspacing. The wheel charts will tell you 4.75 is the right backspacing and this is correct in most cases. I have heard that Global West arms and negative wedge kits will hit the wheel with 4.75 b/s. At the time I purchased the wheels for my car I didn't know if I was going to change the upper A-arms and the rims are only available in 4.5 backspacing anyway. The rear b/s is the same recomendation 4.75 again this is correct but if you use a 5.0 b/s you can fit a wider tire in the wheel well because it centers the wheel 1/4 more inward. To be sure these wheels will fit measure your car. On the rear measure from the drum flange to fender then from the drum to the leaf spring. On the front measure from the wheel flange to the fender and then from the wheel flange to the upper A-arm balljoint as that is what will hit before anything else. If you have Global west arms they are more square then the stock arms make sure to look carefully at the "corners" of the arm. That is where the Global west arms have problems with the 4.75 b/s. If you can determine these will fit your car, this is one heck of a deal for perfect brand new rims.

I'd like to buy them but my budget has been shot with my 5spd swap. Maybe I should hit the casinos this weekend and win big! Seriously though, if I can come up with the money I'll let you know. Of course if you sell them, that's fine too.
