Which shock best fits a 68 mustang 302 w/ac to have a very good ride w/o really compromising handling? Is the edelbrock ias shock good?

I had problems with the IAS shocks I put on my Explorer. A friend had similar problems with the set he put on his Tahoe. I won't use them again.

If all you are doing is "normal" driving, then KYB gas adjust would do you just fine. I have a set, and they are stiffer than regular shocks, but not to the point you feel every bump in the road.------------------ William The easiest way to find something lost, is to buy a replacement. 68 Coupe 289 C4 2:79 rear gears

I love my Konis. It came with the car and will definately buy another set soon. This is the best riding car I EVER had, including some new cars.------------------ reliving youth

If you're only concerned with normal driving then any name brand shock will do. Unless you just want to spend an extra $50 on shocks so you can say you have Koni's or KYB's then just go by your local parts store and get a set of Monroes or Gabriels. Be sure and put a new set on the front and rear.

What kind of problem did you encounter? I am also thinking of the KYB GR2 type of shock. Is it also good?

The "GR2"'s are great, if your gonna drive it all the time. I had the gas adjusts on, but two of them blew out a seal. Then they rode a lot better, but it bounced too much. All the oil leaked out. Then I tried Gabriels. That was like having worn out shocks. Anyway, ended up with the GR2's. Good luck, KP

The Monroes that I have do a great job. Those plus some nice new tough springs in the front and back and your cooking. Richard.

I had monroes on the front and they snapped and broke into two from the base of the mounting and oil leaked. Never had this problem before.

Two sets of the bushings split. The control valves in the shocks made this really annoying rattling sound that transerred into the cabin and one of the rears blew a seal. I notice when I took the fronts out I could move the shock a good inch (by hand) before any dampening effect could be felt. On my buddy's Tahoe, the front upper mount broke and the rears both blew seals.
