I heard today he sold his wheel division to American Racing and is moving to Montana when he completes a house he's building there. What's up with Boyd? Any truth to this?------------------ ------------------------ 1967 472 PS headed to PT D1X FBstang 1972 429 Mach/CJ Vert Clone 2004 F150 4x4 Crew FX4 Hobby site: www.mikesmustangs.net

Hopefully some of the money he gets from the sale will be refunded to the investors he stiffed on his bankruptcy. As far as moving to Montana---Good place for him because he won't be hacking up any more cars and blaming the problems on every one else.------------------ Duane 71 Fastback (under resto-351C-4V C6 auto) M & M Member #730

Maybe DuhWayne can get a janitor job at Foose's. Notice that Foose had someone besides Mike (iron jaw) waterjetting wheels.

They just had an article about the yellow Stang he built, it's in this issue of Mustangs and Fords. I'm not at all impressed with the work they do on the show, but I would love to have FULL access to his shop. ------------------ William 68 Coupe 289 C4 2:79 rear gears

That article was a pile of crap. They talked about Scotty's love for his wife and wanting to build her dream car. That car has already been put up and sold at auction. Plus, they really did a hack job on it to begin with. The only thing that saved it was Charlie's body and paint work.

Agree that is the best part of the car, even though they over reduced the color because the paint they bought was not the right color and they had to use left over paint from another project. Hmm who finishes a project with enough left over paint to do another car???? Really POed me when they blew the K code engine just to have some fun. I do not miss the show.

Boyd should have never done that show cause it just let everyone see what a donkey's butt he is. I quit watching it pretty quick. Luckily there's "Chop, Cut, Rebuild" and "Overhaulin". ------------------ Bryan - 1965 coupe / front bench seat / 289 / T5.

It was not a K car. It was an apparent A code GT with auto. Never did get the drift on the removable core support. Slipshod in some respects, but decent in others. I never had a 65/6 that had panel fitment nicer than that. The steering wheel and wheels were ugly and the paint combo left me cold. Charlie pulled it out with the rough roof, etc. Boyd truly made a big mistake when he did what he did re engine. Shades of Jessoff James ala 93 Mustang Cv teardown, deliberately destroying parts!! One thing I'll say about other shows, like the Challenger redo or the recent redo of two Ponchos on Overhaulin' Parts are handled with care! What kind of statement is destroying stuff!!!! Jim Smart, as usual, ****** ** the article by saying it was a 6 banger that had to be clipped. It wasn't clipped. I think he mistook it for the fastback that Overhaulin' did-that one WAS clipped! He'll probably do that car in an article with a description of the yellow one!

My opinion of Boyd really went downhill when I first watched the show as well.He expects totally loyalty from everyone but treats them like dirt with his stupid deadlines. ------------------ 68 J-Code,Sprint,306 4 speed,4.11s 13.69@101............... 66 coupe 289 4 speed, 3.20 cruiser http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/MembersPics/mustangboy.html http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/MembersPics/mustangboy2.html

I'm not sure about him selling to American Racing, but I do know that there is a connection now between Boyd and American Racing. From what I have heard here, it is a "project" going on between the 2.------------------ Gary M '70 Mustang 63b SportsRoof '95 Mustang GT coupe and 5 more classic Fords

For some reason Am. racing thinks the name will sell wheels, from a business point of view, there would be no reason to purchase Boyds inventory of wheels, but i guess the name does have a value. Am. hot rod is the only show i;ve taken the to time to write to. Told them to get a shop manager that knows how to work with people, not talk down to them & maybe treat craftsmen with some respect, especially when they meet his totally disorganised, hap hazard way of doing business. I lost all respect for "Boyd" after watching that show & the way they throw together cars that you know they;re charging huge $$$$$$$ for.
