Let me know what you guys have done.... My winter's project is to get my windows to crank up and down smoothly. It is like an upper body work-out to crank them now. Can the crank mechanism simply be removed, soaked in solvent to de-gum, and relube? OR will simply replacing the plastic rollers solve the problem? OR do I need to buy an all new crank assembly. Please advise. Thanks, Charlie

Charlie, All of the above...the actual original grease used is now in the form of a stiff parafin. If you are going to take the door panels off, replace and clean all of the rollers and try to clean the tracks and re-lubricate. Take a good look at the pivot points, they could be worn and require a replacement. While your inside the door, you might want to remove the door lock mechanism, its filled with the same grease, if they are originals.------------------ Mike Golliver MCA Gold Card Judge-Modifieds 65 Kcode coupe 347 stroker modified 5-speed MCA Retired 66 convertible-3 dueces and a 5-speed with a 289 01 Mustang GT Convt 05 F-150 4x4 CrewCab [This message has been edited by kcode (edited 12-05-2005).]
