I'm getting ready to install new Hooker Super Comp headers (6116-1). What is the best way to install them? With our without gaskets? I've heard both ways. Its for a 1970 351W. Also what kind of silicon?Travis ------------------ '70 Fastback 351W/3.73 TractionLoc/FMX

I`ve always used header gaskets, and no silicone. I feel that most Ford engines have an adequate number of bolts to attatch the headers to the cylinder heads, unlike SOME manufacturers. Seriously use gaskets and keep snugging all the bolts down for a whole week. Than they take a "set" and will take longer till they blow out. May go a a year or longer. Keep an extra set of header gaskets in the garage.
