Some time in 1968 Ford changed from a round base on the antenna to a rectangular base. Anybody know the date? All I know is that it was 1968 but I��m not sure if it corresponds to the model year change.

Page 86 of the new Mustang Monthly addreses this issue. Acording to Perkins all 68s should have a round base. The C8ZZ part is a service replacement part made in the 80s.

Yeah read that too,I shed a tear thinking of the 80 dollars i paid to NPD for a perfect match to original antenna only to find out it wasn't,sure looks pretty though,its long as h*ll though

I haven��t read it yet but I guess it coincides with the model year change. I see early and late 1968 so I guess the late 68s would be the new 1969 models being built.
