Side exit won't work with an X pipe.....Whaaaat?? I'm glad no one told me that before I did mine! I have an X pipe, 2 1/2" pipes and they exit just in front of the rear wheels. I cut the pipes to follow the line of the car and I like them much better that way They are load though, course just going thru Dynomax race bullets doesn't help I have a few pics on my website if you care to look. There's also a bad recording on page 2.------------------ Mark Sellers 1966 Mustang 2+2 set up for Open Track and Vintage Racing. Details here:www.cardomain.com/ride/667160

Mark, repeat after me... side exits are baaaaad. They make little old ladies' poodles hair curl and go white, wake the neighbors at five in the afternoon, and set off car alarms in restaurant parking lots while waiting at traffic lights. Like I said, side exits are baaaaad. Plus they're cool and I want some... Daniel

What do y'all think of side pipes AND tail pipes? When I bought a 71 351C 4V recently, it had all four pipes functioning and sounding really mean! I couldn't drive it 'cos it didn't run, but I loved the sound. Anyhoo, the side pipes look really cool so I thought I'd transfer them over to my Torino "race" car and rig up the same four-pipe arrangement. I can see how having different length header tubes is not good, but would this really be an issue with exhaust pipes? Obviously the side pipes would be a lot shorter than the tail pipes. Any other performance-related issues? Thanks, Simon

Hm, if you really wanted to run 4 pipes (2-out the back, 2-side), the way I would do it is run exhaust pipe cut-out (you know the electric ones) and those would lead to the side. So when you really wanna mash it, or scare someone, set off car alarms, just hit the button that switches the cut-outs open and you have open headers out the side pipes. Yeeeahhhh ... David

Just saw those elec cut outs advertised and they were a bit on the high side. But then, what's the difference if you have a mindset to have them. GO FOR IT!! LOL!

I was watching an old episode of Trucks this morning and saw he put those on his tricked out Chevy pickup. Pretty wild device.

If you want to set off car alarms and rattle windows in other cars, get an "FE".

I agree whole heartedly I set off car alarms everytime I go through a parking lot.Just for a laugh my son and I will drive down a local street near here where a bunch of the local ricers live and the street is ablaze with over sensetive car alarms once we pass through

3 1/2" dynomax bullets coming out the sides usually does that with my cleveland. I especially like setting the alarms off on those rice burnin cracker jack cars just idling around.

I really like to scare those bike riders that ususally are in groups of 4 in the middle of the street, first i get real close and quiet, then hit the gas to scare them with my right side exaust (200 ci 2?side exaust).
