Hey all,Been doing a lot of research and am hoping that you folks can confirm or correct my findings. With my '95 motor I can not find a bracket that will allow me to just run the alt, crank, and current water pump (reverse direction). So the suggestion I got was to put on a old style water pump and timing cover (like what I have on my '73 motor) and get the serp pullie set that is out there. March Performance has one set that comes with the alt bracket and serp pullies. Part number # 30180. They said to order from Summit Racing and get the shipping free. Cost $360. Is that a lot for a set like that? I have tried to check the summit site at www.summitracing.com but it is down. Bummer. If that works I think I will go that way. A new water pump is $30. I am having trouble finding a timing cover but if need be I can use the one on my car, right? This will also allow me to use the oil dip stick that I have with my old motor, right? I have sent a email to David aka Flight2Conquer about a oil pan that he has for sale.. I may go for a new one but I need to keep costs down. If anyone has a good one let me know. If needed I can use the one on my car. I will have pleanty of more questions coming up but for now I am trying to be catious and make sure I have things right as I go along. I just wanted to know what input I could get from here on the pullies and timing cover if I go with the older, normal flow water pump. I think it is the way to go but wanted to double check and make sure I am not overlooking other options. Payday is next week and I am going to get a few parts and seals and get started. As always, thanks very much for your time and input. This place is great. LOL. My friends think I am a car guru!!! YES - SMART IDEAWhile you're at it, why not save the money on the serpentine stuff and just use the v-belt you already have? I am having trouble finding a timing cover but if need be I can use the one on my car, right? YES This will also allow me to use the oil dip stick that I have with my old motor, right? YES oil pan If needed I can use the one on my car. YES
Stay on course, you're doing fine!

Scott,Thanks very much for the info and the encouragement. I think the serp set up will be really cool. With all of the trouble that I am going through making this '95 motor work I think I want it to stand out a bit rather than it look more like the original. Know what I mean? The serp will be more '95 than '66. I think I am starting to get it though. The motor is the same as any other year 302. Just the parts put on it are different. The '95 water pump is a reverse direction pump where a pre 94 is a normal direction pump right? So I could get a alt bracket form any pre 94 motor, like the one i have now and it should work, right? Just so long as I have the pre '94 water pump and the right pullies. So, if that is the case I will get a alt bracket from summit, should not cost much, and the cool serp set up. I found one set up that is a under drive system by Motorvation pulley for $75 on page 273 in the current summit catalog. I also found a alt bracket for $21.95 for most ford small blocks on page 260. Add $30 bucks for a water pump, find a timing cover, find a alt, and I should be on my way with the front. That is better than the $360 for the 'SPECIAL' one from MarchPerformance. Got to keep the costs real. If I base all of my parts on say a '92 302 all should be fine. I think that will work. [This message has been edited by rmousir (edited 11-07-2005).]

NO - serpentine drive systems all use the reverse rotation water pump back to when they first came out, in 86? I believe. Got to keep the costs real. YES - make it function first, then try to make it cool later. Keep focused and moving ahead. Since your budget is not unlimited, forget the expensive stuff that is slowing you down. It could always be added later if you really MUST have it. [This message has been edited by rmousir (edited 11-07-2005).]
