Looks like I might have to replace the trasmission pump in my C4. How difficult and how expensive is this repair if I was to have someone do it?

Thanks

Dave

Find a competent trustworthy performance trans shop in your area and take the car there.
If your pump has failed, the trans lost lubrication and you will need a entire rebuild anyway.
Youu can get a nice street C-4 done well in the car for under $1,000.

MoneyMaker - can you start an engine if the tranny has been drained?

Thanks

If you got the book, and 200buck's, you
can do you own C4. 800.$ in yer pocket.
Get a factory manuel. The C4 is a really
simple, well made tranny.

Jake - thanks for the feedback. Is it hard to get parts for the C4? I know I'll need at least a rebuild kit and a tranny pump.

Thanks

Dave

No. easy to find. Call a couple tranny shops in your area. Ask them where you can
get C4 parts for your year and model. Tell them what your doing and they will probably
tell you where to get it at.

I had a well known tranny shop here in the st louis area called Trannsmissions to go replace mine. He only charged me 25 bucks for the pump and fifty for the install. No probs with it yet and that's been about a year ago.

I bet that was for the trans already removed from the bay. I assume the trans is in the car and will need removed. Changing the pump is not hard and is even easier with a manual
