Following my other post I was wondering if this kit sold by NPD was an original or at least "dealer installed" feature back in 67 ?
....instead of that lousy ever-breaking handle

The only stock parking brake I'm aware of is the handle under the dash. I think that when this was designed they changed terminology from emergency brake to parking brake. I have seen use of a center lever and would go this way if I were to change... and had bucket seats. (I'm one of the "lucky" few with a bench seat.)
