What are the benefits of an X pipe or H Pipe. I do not have one on my 408 and it runs pretty good, sounds mean. What could I expect if I were to put one on my car.The car currently has 2 1/2" pipes behind Hooker Super Comps. Thanks Ernie ------------------ Red Fire Clearcoat 65 Fastback, 408W. Ernie, I've heard is a small gain in power. Also melows out the exhaust tone. If you want to add one I'd go with the X pipe summit racing has one for around $90.------------------ Mustangsandmore member #351w oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs BIG Boss hood scoop My Pics "How do you feel about women's rights ? My brain is fuggy on this, except for the conclusions all my reading led me to about five years ago. This was for a stock 302 - which I see is not quite what you've got! X pipes work better on later models, 5.0's, and while H pipes are OK, better yet not to bother, in terms of sound and being able to spot which bank of cylinders has a problem. I remember clearly it was SteveW who finally swayed me to do nothing, right here at M&M. Maybe you can find that old thread?[This message has been edited by Fastback68 (edited 10-31-2005).]
