Hi, I'm trying to finish off my Mach1 and want to use 2-1/2 x pipe hooked up to my headers. I was looking at a few places on the web and almost fell over to find the cost up around 279-300 bucks whih of coarse doesn't include shipping. I realize there are both the one piece fab. and then there is X pipe with 4 pieces of tubing to be clamped. Passing all of above where how is the best way to go about this. Thanks Joe Rigby 72 Mach1 351C 2v, FMX trans ------------------ Joe Rigby 1972 351c Mach 1 Fastback

I make my own x pipes from mandrel bends.E mail me and i will send you some pics of one. You need two 90s and four 45s.Have you looked at what "Dr.Gas" has to offer.I think they are under $200.US.He is the guy that designed/pioneered them.I have his stuff in my 68..Cory ------------------ 68 Fastback 427MR 4 spd.Deluxe interior,8000 tach,140 speedo,am/fm,tilt.

Summit sells a decent mandrel X pipe for $89 for the 2.5" model. It even comes with four 45 degree mandrel bent connectors and clamps for that price! The connectors are each around 2ft long. 3" is $99.It's tough to beat that price, considering all you get. ------------------ Mike Burch 66 mustang real street 302 4-speed 289 heads 10.63 @ 129.3 http://www.geocities.com/carbedstangs/cmml_mburch.html http://www.fortunecity.com/silverstone/healey/367 http://www.mustangworks.com/cgi-bin/moi-display.cgi?220

Thanks, I was just wondering if I was getting ripped. I went to a local performance parts place here in Florida and they gave me a price of 296 bucks, I had looked on DrGas web page and saw the same in pricing. But those are formed pipes with the weldment only at the cross over. I had found at Summit they had the 4 pipes and the cross over section for the metioned 89 bucks. Has any one tried these? and is there a difference in the performance. Thanks I just didn't know where else to look. Joe Rigby------------------ Joe Rigby 1972 351c Mach 1 Fastback

I checked the Dr.Gas site and the 2 1/2 kit is aprox $189 and you can buy just the X for around $90.Still...the Summit kit is much cheaperAs long as the pipes are mandrel bent I dont see how you can go wrong.
