I have a SBF manual by Bob Mannel. It shows 11 different hose schmatics for a 68/69 depending on the engine, transmission and carb.Give me some details and I'll try to help. ------------------ '68 302 2v C4 All stock ragtop

I've got a pretty good vacuum schematic for all Mustangs 64-73 if you could let me know the engine I can try to help you out. ------------------ 72 Mustang Mach1 351CJ/C6/3.50 Open 99 F150 5.4/3.73 K&N/FLOWMASTER/HYPERTECH

I believe the front port advances the timing, the rear port slows it. You can verify this with a timing light and then apply vacuum to each port and see which way the timing marks move. Try hooking up the front port to a ported vacuum on the carb (should only show a ready when you accelerate, should show 0 vaccum at idle).

You should get the correct vacuum diagram for your year, engine, trans, etc. My '73 has thermal valves, electric vacuum valves, check valves, a spark delay valve...You get the idea. ------------------ '73 Convertible, 351C 2V '91 LX Convertible 5.0 Member: Valley Forge Mustang Club "The best things in life are free, but the really kick-a** things cost a fortune." Here's a couple of possibilities. The first assumes you have a manual transmission, the second assumes an automatic and that you have a functional vacuum switch on top of your thermostat housing. If you have some emissions controls or a vacuum door in your air cleaner horn, let me know and I'll send another pic.

The picture above wasn't showing up when I posted this but hose system 9 is the one I had.One goes to the carb (ported) and the other goes to a manifold vacuum port behind the carb. I'm not sure which goes where though. The easiest way to tell is to connect the manifold vacuum line to each of the dist ports and whichever one causes the idle speed of the engine to increase is the right one. The other port goes to the carb. [This message has been edited by 69 Sportsroof (edited 10-08-2005).]

Looks like the rear one goes to the intake manifold, and the front one goes to the distributor. (or the vacuum tee the distributor's porte vacuum hooks to, if so equipped)------------------ Mike Burch 66 mustang real street 302 4-speed 289 heads 10.63 @ 129.3 http://www.geocities.com/carbedstangs/cmml_mburch.html http://www.fortunecity.com/silverstone/healey/367 http://www.mustangworks.com/cgi-bin/moi-display.cgi?220
