On the 65-66's, I believe it goes through the firewall. Mine disappears under the forward part of the carpet. It doesn't cut over anywhere near the trans tunnel.

well the person before me has it in the trans tunnel the hole does not look cut or drilled it looks punched so I wonder what that hole was for ? I though it should go through the firewall but was not sure. Thanks for the help. It does have an extra hole there just left of were the emergency brake goes through. The holes look exactly the same .

The second hole that you mention is where the speedo cable comes through, in a rubber sleeve about 3/4" in dia. Engnine and trans are not in car, and it's hospital clean underneath so I looked for another hole..nada, zip. It comes through near the brake cable in the engine cmpt. My car is a 66 cv....also a light shade of blue.

I'm wondering if the hole in the trans tunnel was for an air conditioning drain or something?Anyway it should be up through the firewall like stated

I thought of that but that hole is over on the pass side. If someone fished a speedo cable over there the needle would be doin' The Bird dance! LOL!
