Can someone please decode whats stamped on my tranny ?On the tail shaft what looks like: Q1 D 2 65 (April 65?) T1OH-7B WG DIV On the other side, it has a '1X' On the case: T1OH-1 WG Div W-1 D9 Thanks Nic

Nic, Don't have an answer to your question, just a guess. All of the info is just casting data, the actual trans type is usually stamped on a steel plate that is riveted to the case or attached to one of the bolts.Mike

Nick, it looks like a Borg Warner T-10 (side-loader) from 1965. The tail shaft numbers show the tranny is for a Mustang. Does it still have the little tag which gives the tranny gearing ID? It looks just like a rear end ID tag and should be fixed on the right upper rear tailshaft to main case bolt. I have a 1966 HEK-AD T10 4 speed which is about what you have. It's a nice strong tranny with smooth shifts. I actually think it shifts more smoothly than toploaders, but isn't quite as strong (what else is???). The gearing takes some getting used to, too. I have three close ratio gears and then 4th is wide, almost like an over-drive. The crossmember for the tranny is the same as the toploader, BTW.Hope this helps. Daniel
