Does anyone know if the standart antenna would fit on the rear quarter panel as on the Shelby of 67/8? Even better is there a retractable antenna for this location?

You'll have to pay attention to the angle of the plane on the quarter where you are planning to install it, some antenna types have angled bases, some are flat. There are many power antenna kits available aftermarket.

Had one in my 65 GT that came out of a Nissan Maxima. It worked fine, until 9/11, when I put the FLAG on it. It functions now as a regular antenna. Have another one, out of a VW of some sort. With the GT had a black plastic power window switch in the glove cmpt. Going to use it in the 68.

Forgot. Was able to use the original antenna mount which made it hard to detect.
