Well, I CAN tell you that my extensive and painful research found there were two Corporate Blues in Ford's history. The one now referred to as Corporate Blue came in in the '60s. If you like, I will rummage through my files, but they are confusing at best. Sounds to me like Old Ford Blue would be the one they used way back when, that was also known - by some folks at least - as Corporate Blue until the replacement came along. If I'm right, it's not Light Blue, and it's not something you would use on a Mustang.[This message has been edited by Fastback68 (edited 09-02-2005).]

I'm getting ready to paint the eninge in my wife's '66 with the DE1606. It looks a lot better than the lighter Ford Blue that was in there. Take a look in "Sam's Place" for a thread titeled "Dave's Photo's - Terri's Mustang Restoration." Take a look at the air cleaner assembly and then look at the engine bay photo's. The air cleaner assembly was painted with DE1606. Looks much better than the current light blue on the engine. Just my opinion.Dave & Terri ------------------ '65 Mustang Fastback '66 Mustang Coupe '02 Explorer XLT Common sense isn't common anymore.

The Ford Blue was on 64.5 260 V-8 engines. It looked so bad that, when helping a guy do a 64.5 engine, we painted it Corporate Blue saying **** originality! We made a wise choice! LOL! The other Duplicolor is correct as is Plasticote #224. The Corporate Blue made it's Debut starting with 1966 engines, but MAY have been on some late, late 65's. Figures as it's the same co., probably same vat! Now Sherwin-Williams owned. There a couple other brands that seem correct, also.[This message has been edited by mellowyellow (edited 09-03-2005).]
