I have a scattershield that my t-10 is bolted to, but I don't know what kind it is. Is there anyway to find out? I don't see any numbers on it. It's black and not red like the lakewoods. I want to convert to a t-5 and I would like to know what adapter plate can be used, and if I can use a cable clutch in the future with it. Also, does anyone know of a website to decode a t-10? Thanks for the help.

There are very few manufacturers of scatter shields.
If it is a hydro formed steel unit it should be a Lakewood or McLeod.
There MUST be a SFI certification stamp on it.
You can trace the manufacturer through the SFI number.

If I no longer have a sfi sticker on the bell, am I s.o.l. when it comes to iding it? What about the adapter plate for the t5, will it mate up to any scattershield?

T-5 adapter should mate up to any bell housing with a hour glass FoMoCo style trans bolt pattern.
