Has anyone done this before? Does it work? Could be a very low cost way to do it.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7961262424&category=33564&sspagename=WDVW Richard. ------------------ rmousir '66 Mustang Coup Ford Blue & white stripes 302 auto work in progress - [email protected] Check out my site: My Toy ~ Updated Oct '04

I haven't tried it and I haven't heard of it before, but I doubt the savings is enough to make it worth the risk. The bracket is close to $100 with shipping, you need calipers at close to $300, plus rotors...I'll bet you're almost at $600 for something cobbled together with custom parts. You can have a brand-new Wilwood Disc set-up for $650 per axle, see my post under Classifieds Scott

I exchanged some email with Mr. Scarebird when I noticed his web page limited the application to 65-66. (I have a 68.) This limitation is still on his page. Now he is selling a universal bracket that fits everything from 65-73. There are differences in the spindles and other front end components that would make me nervous about using a universal plate to hold on the brakes. The second step in the directions is: "Take drum/hub assembly and remove drum by using a swedge cutter. Clean off wheel surface and register with wire wheel or beadblaster. Machine outer edge of hub flange to fit inside rotor with about 0.010? loose fit." What is a swedge cutter? Then you have some machine work to do. I'm not ready to take this on. Perhaps I would be willing to let Mr. Scarebird convert my car but it is not a job I would take on myself. Just my thoughts.
