This is for my dad, but I am curious too. He has a 73' Mach 1, and wants to get his center gauge cluster rechromed. These are the 3 gauges in the center dash console. Anyway, the only outfit he has found to do this is in Canada. I just find it hard to believe no one in the states would do this. The shipping to and from is very high. The process as he explained it would have the whole piece re-chromed, then it would be up to the owner to mask it off afterwards and re-paint or apply the wood grain appliques thmeselves. Someone surely restores these don't they? Anyway, got a name, number, website, link, etc., please pass it along. Maybe even NOS would be cheaper than restoring.........

Even for interior parts that are available as new reproductions, the vacuum metalizing process makes the part come out so m uch nicer and closer to OEM. Here's a couple place you could try:http://www.laysons.com/ Mr. G's is another source, they are a large company and they have many parts in stock ready to exhange for your core. They also have some disgruntled cutomers who are sounding off on their own page. Sounds like they aren't too friendly sometimes. I only used them once, that was 5 years ago, and I was happy with the results. http://www.mrgusa.com/index.html http://www.rechromedplastic.8m.com/letters.html Scott

Thanks - got some good links and information from those. Kind of surprised to hear of Mr. G's negative's. Have heard the name before, hopefully it's not as rampant as some made it seem........

I think in general the reproduction taiwan parts don't look as nice or fit as nice as an original part that has been restored. Scott

I've dealt with Mr. G's. My opinion is that they are major jerks that do good work. At least I'm happy with the work they did for me. ------------------ "I only drink to steady my nerves.
