I recently broke a u joint and put a bend in my driveshaft i've looked in my interchange manual and it says 65 mustang driveshafts manual 4 speed: 52&25/32" auto c4: 51&1/16"although i currently have a 4 speed driveshaft out of a 67 musatang(which is 52&1/2"long and 3&1/2" wide u joints). i went to a junk yard near me that has alot of classic cars and found one its 53&1/4" in length and the u joints are 3&1/2" wide. does anyone know the proper length of what one should be for my 65? the 67 shft i have in the car to move it around was a replacement and i know the one i had when i got the car wasn't original either. also this driveshaft i got from the junk yard has a rubber part at the end where the pinion yoke would be. the main tube is 3" wide and the end with the rubber thing goes to like 2 1/2" wide?? i've only ever seen this on my friend's 68 coupe that had an auto/302. What is the correct length and what is the rubber piece in my junk yard drive shaft, some kinda vibration device???
