ok i have a 9 inch housing for my 65 mustang. i am in the process of finding a center section. could someone tell me what pinion yoke to look for( i know some are different sizes). is it possible to use my stock drive shaft with a stock 65 mustang u-joint??
I was told that since it has the smaller tube ends on the 9 inch housing that i can use my stock 28 spline axles and drum brakes? is that possible.

thank you
-Steve

What is the 9" out of? The stock axles will only work if you have a centered pinion, 52 1/4" wide 9" housing with small bearing ends.

Sometimes it's offset to one side. Is the gubbins that connects the rear end to the drive shaft bang slap in the middle? Then that's centered.

If you do have the 52 1/2" wide housing, it is a very rare housing indeed,as only Shelby's and Hi-Po Mustangs used that rear end, or it is out of a '57-'59 Ford full size car. Your axles should work fine if you have the right housing.
