Thanks for the offer Mike, but if anything it makes me want to sell mine, er uh , I mean my Mike's clone. OOPS! I think now the PC term is "recreation."Bought and built for less than $20K. Not quite as nice as the one in the auction, but we aren't afraid to drive and enjoy either. Makes me happy too be cause it has satisfied Mike's lust for a real KR. Win-Win! J.

Overall I think it is pretty nicely done, but there are a few things I take exception to. I don't think for a minute that it is a clone that was done and/or authorized by either Ford or Shelby American, Inc. ....I think somebody just got a repro tag and stamped their Vin into it. I have the same tag for the clone I'm doing and we stamped it with SHELBY GT500KR REPLICA. I noticed its missing the door pulls, the steering wheel woodgrain looks out of place, and it wouldn't have been too much trouble to get some of the engine details better, like the oil fill cap, the ugly fuel filter, the plug wires, etc. They are so close to having a really really nice clone they should have gone just a little bit further. I'm guessing it will hit close to $60k. Scott

Gee Joyce. Terri and I know exactly where that Stang is located. To bad we aren't still in Pensacola. We could at least go inspect it for you and give it a test drive. Dave & Terri ------------------ '65 Mustang Fastback '66 Mustang Coupe '02 Explorer XLT Common sense isn't common anymore.

Maybe I'm being picky but for that money I would think the hood and deck lid would fit better.

That hump in the hood where it doesn't meet the fenders gives it that 'original' look. They are notorius for not fitting, either at the hood or the trunk.

Gee, I can just see me explaining to people that because the fit and finish is so crappy, that makes it more original. NOT! ------------------ SkinnyMan Tupelo, MS Thank you, Thank you very much!

It's true, those fiberglass hood and fenders weren't famous for lining up. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip

I guess it can?t be an exact clone if it?s a 360 HP 428, no inspection cover on the bell housing, incorrect exhaust, steering wheel looks out of place, no deluxe door handles, looks like one of the bell housing bolts is not in all the way and did the original hoods really fit that poorly.------------------ Ed S. 68 S-code FB GT 4spd(now C6)/3.25 PS PDB 68 J-code(now 289) Cp Sprint"B" C4/3L00-9" PDB PS AC Bla-Bla-Bla 99 F150 XLT Ext/cab, 4X4, 5.4L, 3L55

The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale.. Wonder what he wanted for it in order to meet the reserve, and if someone walked in and made an offer he couldnt refuse..hmmm KellyIt ended bidding at 833 Pacific time, which would be 1133pm eastern, being it's in Florida, so, who knows [This message has been edited by kwalger (edited 03-08-2005).]

In answer to question about Shelby panel fit. They DID fit like sh*t in the 67's and a little better with the 68. I had a 68 GT350 and it had all the original panels. Yes, they fit less than perfect. Way less!! But it sill looked great! Believe that the 68's had better fit than the 67's owing to the mfring location change and better process. Re the 67's: The Miami dealer for Shelby was J D Ball Ford. They had a 67 Lime Mettalic GT 500 on the showroom floor for MONTHS! Every panel fit poorly and there was a slight color difference between them and the rest of car. Combined with a saddle interior, it was LESS than an attractive car to have in 1967. The gaps on the hood were unbelievable and it bowed up in the center. Sold and made their weekly full page ads and each week made a small box to feature the car. They finally discounted the s**t out of it to blow it out. They also had at that time, a white GT 350 and it fit better. It had real paint probs and they refinished it, making it look very good. That one sold in a day! A fellow ad man bought an Acapulco Blue 500 and it was stolen right out of a gated parking lot in the middle of the day, never to be seen again!
