67 or 68?

This car appears confused.

But notice the Buy It Now winner, seems to be Unique the builder of Eleanors. Click on their feedback score and check out all the other FBs they've Ebay purchased. SAD!

Yes, it is sad. All these cars are leaving the general pool of cars for regular people to buy and restore. They will be made into cars for the rich and famous. These cars are slowly being pried out of the reach of normal people. If you don't think that's what's happening then wait another 5 years and try to purchase a restorable car. Unique Performance stated that they only use basket case cars. Yeah right ! I don't believe that for a second. They want cars with as straight of a body as possible. Time is money. I'm getting upset again....I'd better stop.

I see a 68 quarter panel ornament without the 68 side reflector. The front fender has a 68 side light though. The interior door panela are 68, but the steering wheel and seats are 67. The VIN is 67.

I agree, that car is confused!

I am more annoyed at the fact that they think Alice Cooper is a "celebrity".

Not sure about the "only buy basket case cars", but have seen 2 trashed cars they bought. A guy I know sold 2 wrecks to them for a large fee. I was happy because I striped off some good parts before hand, like a perfect 67 dashpad and set of amercan racing wheels.

Yup, he's a "celebrity" in my book too. I've heard nothing but good stuff about him, and used to LOVE the album "Welcome to my nightmare" with Vincent Price!

It's what happened to antique cars. They were once a hobby for the poor 'regular' guy back in the 60's, 70's and early 80's. After that, the big dollar guys came in and the prices on everything went crazy. Now the hobby has pretty much dried up.

Those cars use to be CHEAP. Dad purchased an all original, unrestored 1934 Ford Phaeton for $600 that we drove all over the country when I was a kid in grade school. After owning it several years, he started getting crazy offers on the thing... as it's a rare piece and is VERY solid.

We would load up a spare water pump, distributer, FUEL PUMP (those were notorious for going bad) distributer, carb, etc... along with a box of simple hand tools and head out from central West Virginia to places like Hershey, Vermont, Charlotte, etc. The '34 was the best running of the bunch and did most of the road trips. (had the most room as well) But sometimes the 1929 model A roadster or 1935 Ford Cabriolet (two door convertible with roll up windows)
got the nod.

The '34 has side curtains for bad weather, and totally sucks in the rain. I learned to drive a standard on that car. No wussie syncronized transmisson or hydraulic brakes for me! (I must have been around twelve years old)
