Hi Guys,
I'm thinking of buying a cleaning tank with a pump, the kind Saftey Clean use to have, the question is what to use for cleaning, I'm looking for a good degreaser yet someting non flamable like a water base, any ideas?

I know it's not the safest way, but brake cleaner is the BEST thing I have used to date, to remove oil and grease. Plus the fact it dries residue free saves time, because you can saturate the part, and 5 minutes later it's clean AND dry. Only a buck a can too.

I'll let you onto my secret, Gunk SC Super Concentrate degreaser. This stuff is great. You mix it with kerosene, usually about 7:1 ratio, and it turns the kerosene into a water soluable degreaser/cleaner. It is a very strong solution that cleans and degreases very effectively, and you finish by rinsing the parts with water. Once dryed, the parts are spotless and oil-free. I use it in a 20 gallon soak tank with a recirculating pump, like you can buy from Northern Equipment. I usually only have about 8 gallons of mix, seven gallons of kerosene and a gallon of SC. I usually use a garden hose with a nozzle to rinse the parts and then dry with compressed air. The only thing you have to watch out for is getting water into your solvent tank. A little bit of water in the solvent will ruin it's degreasing strength. Most NAPA stores sell SC by the quart, gallon and 5 gallon pail. I have never seen it at places like Advanced or Auto Zone so don't bother. Stick with the guys that deal with the pros. Try it, you'll like it.

I don't know what it is. Put some how I get the same parts cleaner they use at the dealer ship. And when it's dirty I just send it back where it came from.

I use 70/30 Castrol super clean and water. Biodegradeable and price won't bust the budget. Cleans well too. The stuff from NAPA was expensive and they didn't know what to do with it to dispose of it.

You can use SC with mineral spirits too, it's just a lot more expensive than kerosene.
