A week ago I posted problems about starting my 289, 1966 Mustang and how it would randomly shut off even though it had a new carb. I figured out the problems so be sure to check if you are having simliar issues:

The alternator had a bad diode, which therefore wasn't operating the electric choke properly.

The nut on the ignition coil was loose, creatin a gap and that was causing the random starts and non-starts.

Phew! Thanks for the help everyone. On to the next problem that decided to surface.
