hey alex that is a link to tires lol. summit sells there own brna dof traction bar that is a total bolt on system. it bolts around the rear end then has a little rubber bumper that hits the front part of the srping near the eye. they are like 30 bucks. samething as the lakewood bars. they work not not super effective bc of the movement that occurs in the bar and rubber piece. weld on kit would be more reliable. but are more expensive------------------ 1966 coupe 200ci, 3.03 3 speed holley weber two barrel, msd 6a, blaster 2 coil, Duraspark I, 2 inch exhaust to a super turbo, stock rear (3.20),ram air(homemade) white w/ black interior, soon be painted (i hope) with the R model apron 1968 Ford Fairlane 289 auto rotting away 1979 f150 300 six with a three on the tree

Here is a link to the ones at Mustangsplus. I bought some like these at NPD and they work great. I can launch with my 408W and P255 ZR 40 tires and it hooks hard, absolutely NO wheel hop. However, They are weld on so you will need access to a welder to install them.http://www.mustangsplus.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=MPFMP&Product_Code=00646&Category_Code=traction 1965-66 Grab-A-Trak? I used a set of the Lakewood slappers, took about 30 minutes to fit and worked fine, if you get the yellow (instead of the chrome)ones they are cheaper. Not the perfect answer but they work.

Some of the newer, more expensive ones in Jegs/Summit say their snubber hits the leaf spring eye instead of the middle of the spring. They say thats better and it does kinda make sense. I painted my last set of bars black after a few days of the chrome annoying me. If I was putting 'em on my Mustang I'd think about trying to match the paint color since I have a darker car.

Just another opinion... I think most 'slapper' bars, like the Lakewood design, are about the same. They get the name from the constant moving or slapping up and down when power is applied to the rear end.I like the original Traction Master type because they keep the rear end from wrapping up on acceleration and they prevent the axle from nose-diving on deceleration, making your brakes more effective. If you are concerned with the welding part, you can bolt on the rear bracket and then drive the car to a muffler shop (they are usually great welders) and have them weld on the front bracket using the bar for placement. If you want to make their job even easier you can drill and bolt the bracket on at home, then just have them weld it secure. From what I understand, Cal-Tracs are the best for straight line acceleration, but I haven't learned enough about them to explain why or how they work.
