Cool looking rims, and great looking car. I think the rims look out of place on the car, but thats just my opinion.

You don't have a lot of options when it comes to tires, do you? Skinny or very skinny, I would think

Well, that's a cool pic, but I don't think you are going to have THAT much room when you get them mounted. 18's would overfill the wells on my 68. What size are you running on it now???

Well those rims are just a little too "bling bling "for my taste.. I decided to go with a classic look. Was at the local car night here in cali and saw a few coupes with 17's and 18's and it was too hip hop for me. Here is what i want. A set of classic hurst wheels. I would rather kick out 1500 for these than 1000 bucks just for tires.

Check this out:

If you decide to stay with 14" wheels, Ive got 4 brand new (less than 100 miles) Goodyear tires for sale cheap.

I like this choice much better. I agree some of those "WAGON WHEEL" size rims are just wrong for classic Mustangs. I've seen some 16" and even a few 17" that look good but not many.

I think the trick to running the 17" wheels is to get the classic style. Like I have Cragar SS 17's on my 65 Fastback (and I know I MIGHT BE BIASED) but I think it looks OK. In fact I got a trophy last summer at a car show for BEST WHEELS

I like having enough side wall I can go over Railroad tracks, but if you are thinking low profile remember the tricks you can play with side wall thickness! A 20 inch wheel with an inch of rubber on each side is still only 22 inches tall. A 15 inch wheel with seven total inches of rubber is 22 inches tall.

Some realistic math. A 205/35/18 is shorter (23.65 inches) than a 205/70/15 (26.3 inches).

Are you sure about your math?
I make the 18-inch set of rims 20.824 inches.
I make the 15-inch set 20.649 inches.
Are we using the same formula?

Those look too much like the hubcaps at Wal-mart for my taste. Get the Torque Thrust D's for $1095. Then you got almost enough left to buy tires for what you are spending on just rims. Don't mean to piss you off, this is just MY opinion.

I'll get torq thrust d's and look like every other mustang one the road. Thats what i am going against. So thanks for the follow the croud option. IMO. I want a one-of-a-kind look. Wanna set mine off. Hurst wheels r a classic look, I wanna keep my car in the 1960's.

I think you'll get what your after with those rims. I've only seen a few Mustangs with them.

I know all about the one of kind look thing.

Fastback, I got lazy and used the math from that website I linked to.

Lets see...205/70/R15
205*.7= 143.5 mm of profile height
143.5/25.4= 5.65 to turn mm to inches
5.65*2=11.3 inches of uncompressed side wall
11.3 + 15 = 26.3

205/35/R18
205*.35= 71.75 mm
71.75/25.4= 2.824
2.82*2= 5.65 rounded up on the fraction
5.65+18 = 23.65

I just did the math again on my own tires and ran outside to measure and got close enough to 25.4 for my margin of error when in my socks and the temp is 30 degrees.

GOOD CALL! You are spot on! I forgot to double the height of the sidewall!

They'll fit with 4.75" backspace. You'll want either a 235/35-18 or 225/40-18 tire.

It's will give you a pretty short tire sidewall though - but you already knew that.

As you guys have been talking, the style of the wheel is very important, especially with the large diameters!
