Sounds like you got the hard part down. I would find/use a latter model Mustang pedal that is designed for the cable setup. I believe maybe even a 69 or 70 ? Someone could verify if you go this route. Also windsor fox sells an adaptor for your pedal ($$) if you want to retain the stock pedal and use a cable.

Lokar sells a pedal assy ($$). You can check other hot-rod places (AFCO, Speedway, etc.)Or, hit the local parts yard and search for any car with a cable pedal and have fun integrating Al

i think it would be pretty hard with my stock pedel. it is a bar mounted to the outside of the fire wall to the carb linkage. i saw a pedal that you can mount so maybe i can go that route.------------------ 1966 mustang coupe 200ci, 3.03 3 speed tranny holley weber two barrel conversion, msd 6a ignition, blaster 2 coil, Duraspark I, 2 inch exhaust to a glass pac, stock rear (3.20),ram air install complete (homemade) white w/ black interior, soon be painted (i hope) with the R model apron and gt350 hood scoop

I used a gas pedal off a 85 Mustang (V8) and a throttle cable off a 92 F-150 (300 6 F.I.) and the valve cover is off a 78 Granada.I think I have a pic of it somewhere if you need it? Later, Doug ------------------ 66 Mustang coupe 92 F-150 "Six Packer Performance Freak"!!!!

hey! alright, this is exactly what im looking for. im going to be using the carter carb on my inline 6 but that funky linkage has got to go. it looks like peewee herman making breakfast and it binds. i want to do a cable conversion on mine bigtime. i know exactly what you mean about the pedal, it has to have a pivot inside the firewall and attach the cable's sheath thru the firewall. then a homeade bracket in the right place and bingo. ive done this once before on my streetrod using the setup from a 78 firebird but that cable would be too short for this. since i dont want to think about streetrod mail order prices im going to probably piece it up. great thread! exactly where i am right now.------------------ coupe, 306, 4 speed, 4.11's. pump gas, n/a street car. best so far is 7.48 (1/8 mile) at 93mph with 1.64 60ft. 11.80 at 113 on greased 1/4 track.

what year head are you bolting the carb to? best way to tell is to measure it. if it is a later year head the hole in the intake might be bigger then the carb. and it all depends on the year of the carb too.------------------ 1966 mustang coupe 200ci, 3.03 3 speed tranny holley weber two barrel conversion, msd 6a ignition, blaster 2 coil, Duraspark I, 2 inch exhaust to a glass pac, stock rear (3.20),ram air install complete (homemade) white w/ black interior, soon be painted (i hope) with the R model apron and gt350 hood scoop
