Questions regarding ignition coils:1.) I have a MSD pro-billet ready-to-run distributor (no box). What is the optimum coil I should be using? 2.) Engine runs perfect (minus the fast idle still) when cold, but once warm it will miss at first only under load, then will eventually sputter and stall. Coil a possible culprit? (I got this idea from mooney's experience with the thread over in racing) 3.) Is there a difference between coils for electronic ignition vs. points type? The coil I have was purchased as a "points-type" if that makes a difference. 4.) I shouldn't even ask this one but if there is no difference, can I try the coil off my old six cylinder engine to see if any change? <-- I know laugh at me, I have no idea, is a coil just a coil? THANKS for the help, you guys have been great in getting me this far!

Ignition coils have different out puts. Electronic ignition requires a greater amount of secondary voltage which an old style coil cannot deliver. MSD, Accel, Mallory, Jacobs, take your pick. All offer good street units.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,& '04 First SS/MA in the TENS! OK - this is the one I'm going to buy tomorrow. http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=1656&prmenbr=361 Question, why does the one version (121-8200)come with Power Tower, resistor, terminal and boot ? I don't need any of that right? All I need is just the coil (121-8202)? thanks, Dan
