Hi, Since I rebuilt my 72 351 4V mach 1 and I added headers and 2 1/2 exhaust into dynomax super turbos it's extremely loud. I'd put my stock manifolds back on if I had 'em, but anyway is it the 2 1/2 pipes? and, will I choke the car if I go back to a 2 1/4 system into a stock replacement muffler ( if I can find them)compared to the dynomax system??? I'm looking for that original muscle car exhaust note.. not that loud " Hey Mr squad car here I am"!any advice is appreciated. Steve

Steve,,Did you put tailpipes to the back of the car.. If you have them dumping straight out of the muffler under the car,, it will be louder.. I have 2.5" Summit Turbos with 2.5" Mandrel bent tailpipes by FlowMaster and it isn't bad at all.. Summit has the TailPipes for $99.. They fit perfect.. ------------------

thanks Big D, yes, I've got the t-pipes into the original tips,( the round 71 tips) which I think is making it louder.

I've got the Edelbrock intercooled (2.5" pipe within 3.25" pipe) I really like them.. and the finish is staying nice..Don

The 351's like to breathe. I think if you went to the stock pipes (2 1/4) you would notice a little difference, if you kept with the super turbos. The Stock replacement mufflers would choke it down a bit more. I run a 2 1/4" exhaust with the super turbos. ------------------
