Anyone know where to get an adjustable brake rod? With the replacement master cylinder my brake rod is now too long (I had to remove the snubber and it still has a habit of giving me steady brake lights and yes, the switch is good). I know some of the Mustang stores sell generic ones for power brakes but I'm not sure if they will work with manual brakes. Thanks all. ------------------ Tim M&M Member #35 1965 Mustang coupe, 200 I6, Holley 2300, Clifford header, true duals w/ 26" Smithys *back on the road!!!* 1988 Mustang GT AOD vert, 15.810 @ 88.871 mph 100% stock w/ no traction https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/I65Stang.html

I saw that one, it says for disc brakes with dual reservior so I dont know if it will work (be short enough). I replaced with a stock single res for now as I didnt have time to mess with bending lines, etc (going to upgrade to a dual soon).------------------ Tim M&M Member #35 1965 Mustang coupe, 200 I6, Holley 2300, Clifford header, true duals w/ 26" Smithys *back on the road!!!* 1988 Mustang GT AOD vert, 15.810 @ 88.871 mph 100% stock w/ no traction https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/I65Stang.html

Tim,,I made one.. Took my old brake rod,, cut it in half.. Threaded it so it would fit into a threaded coupler.. Works fine.. ------------------ Don 6T6 Fastback 331 STROKER, T-5 Royal Blue Metallic w/Red-Blue Ghost Flames http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/MembersPics/BigD.html

I didnt think about that Don (doh). I was trying to think how I could use threaded stock to do it but your way is a lot easier . Time to pull the rod and see if I have a die big enough.Perchance you remember what size it was? (doesnt hurt to ask ) ------------------ Tim M&M Member #35 1965 Mustang coupe, 200 I6, Holley 2300, Clifford header, true duals w/ 26" Smithys *back on the road!!!* 1988 Mustang GT AOD vert, 15.810 @ 88.871 mph 100% stock w/ no traction https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/I65Stang.html [This message has been edited by I65Stang (edited 10-30-2004).]

I was just talking to my dad and he reminded me that he does QA at a manufacturer who has all the equipment to cut and thread my old brake rod and the techs probably wouldnt have a problem doing it . The owner of the place has a rockcrawlin Jeep that he is totally custom building.

Thanks for the idea Don! My dad took it to work and did the work using the machinery there and it works great and a whole lot cheaper than $40! We used a 3/8-16 coupler and die for those who need to do this. I think I will let my dad take the '65 to work tomorrow .
