I'm having a hard time finding the right size u-joint to mate an aftermarket spicer 1310 transmission yoke to the stock 66 Mustang driveshaft. First, the tranny yoke uses an outside snap ring that fits inside the yoke and and the u-joint endcap is 1 1/16" in diameter. The stock driveshaft has a 1" diameter hole for the u-joint end caps with an inside snap ring (just over a half circle). The parts people gave me lots of options, but none included the right u-joint. Anyone out there dealt with this in their t5 conversion? I've contacted the yoke supplier, but being the weekend, might have to wait for him to get back to me on Monday.

Daniel I used a C4 slip yoke with standard u-joints. We have a good drive line shop in town and the matched up all the components. You may be fighting the yoke you have. Hopefully the supplier can get you the right numbers on Monday.

Wait until you drive the T5, it will blow your socks off and you will wonder why you did not do the change out immediately.

Thanks... I didn't want to cut the driveshaft, so chose this route with the shorter yoke. There should be some sort of conversion number, but I'm not sure what it is. I suppose the driveline shop is another option. I still have my old T10 28 spline yoke, so might just use that if I have to.

I have the z-spec with D&D's 2.95 first, so it should be fun...

I had to cut about 3/4 of an inch of my drive shaft. I wanted to rebalance so now was the perfect time to cut and get the rebalancing done. It was really inexpensive. I think with the yoke, cutting, new u-joints and balancing I was under 150.

i just finished my project last weekend on my 67. i put in a FRPP 5.0 crate engine, T-5 and an 8.8 rear end with 3.55:1 gears from a 92 mustang. the 92 driveshaft was way to short and my original was way to long. i got a driveshaft from a 84 cougar from the junk yard for $27. hope this helps anyone who wants to put in a 8.8
