Have any of you guys replaced your stock water pump with an after-market high-flow water pump? There is a water pump in the Summit catalog by Flow Kooler that claims to double the water flow at low rpms but lets the flow drop back to normal above 3,500 rpm. They say their pump uses a steel plate in front of the impeller that traps water, increasing flow and reducing engine temperatures. Does this sound legit to those who know better than I do how the water pumps innards work? Flow Kooler also offers just the impeller disc for $5.95, as opposed to $78.88 for their entire pump. Anybody have any thoughts/opinions on this? Thanks!------------------ Wade '67 A-code Fastback

I have a 351W and eplaced the stock water pump with a high flow aluminum pump. Works good no problems. Car runs cooler than before with the old pump. I have seen these plates that you can put on your pump and make it more efficient, but I have never talked to anyone who has done that. They just buy the complete pump. Exchange cast for aluminum anytime.------------------ 69 Sportroof 351W 4V FMX Chrome Yellow

I have a flowkooler pump on my car. Before the water just slowly moved past the radiator cap, now it looks like a garden hose going past. They work.------------------ Stuart MCA #48902 M&M #1091 67 stang 5 speed, 351W, Edelbrock Performer RPM package my photo page

Another quick question about the Flow Kooler water pumps: If I keep my stock radiator '67 289), will the Flow Kooler pump push more water through the radiator as well? I'm considering changing to a cross-flow radiator, but if the Flow Kooler water pump will help with the flow through the radiator, it would be a lot cheaper to buy just the pump (as opposed to the pump and a new alum. rad.). Thanks, y'all. Wade------------------ Wade '67 A-code Fastback

I have one also on a 351w, but I purchased it from stewart components. They offered a complete blueprinted version with the cavitation plate. These guys really know what their doing. COOLING EXPERTS!. They have a website with other products too. check them out.
