Hey guysI dont know the first thing about electronics, but if I can get this answered, Im certain I can follow any direction given.. I do not have a radio in my 66 stang. I have access to an am/fm cd stereo from a friend . I can figure out the speakers and antennae wiring, etc. My problem is, I have no idea where to literally hook up the power wire, or if any inline (?) fuses need to be used..Do I feed to the battery somehow, or a fuse in the panel.. Help appreciated, but remember, I aint that bright with wiring and/or electronics.. Thanks, Kelly

Kelly, Most aftermarket radios require two power sources, one that comes on when the key is on, and one that has power all the time to keep your clock and radio stations in memory. The slick way to do this would be to use the original radio power wire for your "key on" source. Chances are you won't find that one though. I would run the radio main power wire (usually red) to the top fuse of your fusebox labeled accessory. Then the secondary power wire (usually yellow) I would run to the bottom fuse which is for the cigarette lighter. Thanks ScottSo, strip off some wire covering from the red and yellow, remove the aforementioned fuses, and get both back in at the same time assuring contact, right ?

Sorry but one important question I have is: How do you actually secure the wire to the fuse to keep it from coming off when you put the fuse back in it's cradle/slot ??..Just wrap it around the metal of the fuse and hope it stays? Thanks, Kelly

Kelly, To make the physical connection, I leave the fuse in place. I crimp a flat (spade) terminal on the wire and then give it a little curve with the tip of a needle nose pliers. Then push the terminal into the fuse holder along with the fuse.
