Hey guys im wondering if the neutral safety switch wiring would effect getting spark. My engine cranks fine and my battery is fine but i cant figure out why i dont have any spark. Also would the alternator wiring effect getting spark? i also check the points and they are fine so i think. The car was running two weeks ago. and now it wont start. Any help would be appreciated. Lemme know if u need more info.Thx Mike ------------------ 1968 Mustang Coupe 302 Check out pics of my car here: http://www.geocities.com/mustangrestore

Mike:No, the NSS only cuts power to the starter solenoid from the ignition switch. If you car cranks, the NSS is fine. I don't believe the alternator would stop the spark. Cars will continue to run if the alternator or regulator go bad. Start with the simplest things: Condenser (even if it's new), points, coil wire, coil. Check for 7-10 volts at the coil + with the key on and 12 volts while cranking.

Dirty or rusty points will cause 'no spark', and its the simplest and most common thing. Dy the way, did you look in the carb while moving the throttle linkage to make sure it has gas up to the carburetor? Scott

You said you checked the points, you think. What do you mean you think? How did you check them, and what else did you check? Solder that wire and put some shrink tubing on it. Mike.
