What would I have to do to change my Cleveland to a Windsor in 70 Mach1, would the motor mounts be the same? I know they use the same bellhousing. Also would my power steering pump and lines be the same?

Almost none of the engine parts would work, with the exception of a few bolt-ons such as the coil, the fan, etc.
Motor mounts are the same and the motor will drop right in and hook up to your same trans. You can use the same pump and lines for the power steering but you will probably have to swap out the cleveland brackets to windsor style.

You know I hate to be a downer and all.....but you could have built your 351c to a much higher performance number than the w you just bought for the same price.

I always tell people when they start the c vs w arguement to build what you own cause it will be cheaper.

$2000 for a complete c stroker kit (or $1000-1500 for a top notch non-stroker kit)
$800 in machine shop charges
$1200 into the factory heads
$2000 ish in incedentals (intake, ingition, carb, headers, exhasuts)

Total $6000....but you already had a bunch of parts you could have reused....like I spent $800 on new heads cause my old ones were cracked...so then the motor would have cost 5200.....

Here's the dyno sheet from the chassis dyno with a ford 9 inch and AOD driveline which is approx 20% parasidic loss which means the flywheel HP is approx 500 (and it is a mild motor with a hydro cam I could swap to a solid cam or even upgrade to a hydro roller and go with a much larger profilte cam...I only run .5885 lift)

Sooners..
What trans will you be running, what rear end ratio, and do you intend to drive on the street or mostly just for weekend drags?

I agree with you somewhat.....believe me you can look at my post over the last month and a half and see that I could not make up my mind, let me tell you how I finally came to my decision.

1) I would never NEVER trust any machine shop in Muskogee Oklahoma or within 200 miles to do a stroker Cleveland engine. Really any ford engine for that matter (nothing but chevy boys)

2) My motor is old and in bad need of rebuild, would have spent lots of money restoring it and then still had lots of labor to do on my own.

Am I spending too much money? Maybe but its my car and I have had it since I was 17. I let it sit the last six years and not touched it. I owe this car every penny I spend on it and I'm never selling it anyway! So to me this is an investment! Everything on my motor will be brand new! and great parts! All I have to do is drop it in and have fun!

Me and my brother are still doing all the body work on the car to get in back in great condintion, so we will have fun doing that, I know it is more fun to build your own engine, but I am eager and ready to get this baby running again!

Flame away if you wish! But please be gentle! My Dad is already thinking I'm nuts for spending this kind of money!

My tag inside the door is wore down, but along time ago me and my bro decoded, 3:50 to 1 Trac Loc I believe. Hurst Toploader 4 speed. Mostly street driving and the occasional dust the corvette or camaro weekend! Probably change clutch to Centerforce Dual Friction.

Here are some before photos!
