I'm going to be putting the side wings?(tridents?) on my 66 coupe and realized that it looks like it's going to require removing the quarter window and rail assembly. Is this correct? or am I not seeing something else more obvious? I've remove the quarters before and no it's not quite as hard as it first appears, but at the same time, it's really more work than I'm ready for right now just for that. Any tricks out there that might help, or am I just going to have to bite the bullet and get with it.------------------ "I started with nothing, and I still have most of it left" http://webpages.charter.net/adragon8u/mystang

I've won my share of shop bets on this one...usually a bodyman or apprentice would come up to me and say "there's no way these quarter ornaments can go on without taking out the window". I tell them they buy me lunch for the week if I can put them in without taking out the window. They come back in about 45 minutes and the job is done, without having to take out or re-align the windows. You can do this, but you'll probably need a 1/4" drive socket set and some small wrenches. There is enough room to work behind the window track and also there are some access holes to work thru the window track. It might help to use some masking tape to stick a nut inside a socket to help get it started. ------------------ MCA Certified Judge, 1965-1966 66 GT coupe A code, Silver Frost 65 coupe modified - the White Knight 66 convert being restored 95 GT convertible/Cobra clone - black with white leather

Having just done this on my '65 convertible, I would have probably lost lunch money to whitenight. This job is a pain in the butt. The first side I did with the window in place - that was so much fun that I elected to remove the window and track for the other side. Either way its a pain - even with a 1/4 socket set. My recommendation: plan on an afternoon. It would also be helpful to have a mutant helper with 7 long, skinny fingers on each hand.
