I HAVE AN "ALL ORIGINAL" 69'COUPE(COMPLETE CAR) THAT I JUST STARTED TO RESTORE. I ALSO HAVE A 69'MACH1 THAT HAS BEEN WRECKED (FRONT CAP AND FENDERS) AND PARTED OUT SOME. NO ENGINE/TRANS, NO REAR END, AND NO DOORS JUST TO NAME THE BIG THINGS. LIKE MOST I PREFER THE MACH OVER THE COUPE AND I AM NOT DOING THIS TO SELL BUT I AM A BUSINESS MAN AT HEART. MY QUESTION IS- VALUE OF THE ORIGINAL COUPE COMPARED TO THE VALUE OF A "MUT" MACH 1? ALL OPINIONS WELCOME! THANKS AHEAD OF TIME BRUBAKER

You can take almost all the parts from your 69 coupe and put them in the 69 fastback, exceptions being the rear interior, trunk, and glass. All the drivetrain is a direct changeover as is all the front sheetmetal. Windshields and pillar posts are different as well. On a scale of 1-10, enjoyment value on both cars can be a 10. On the other hand, re-sale, the fastback will always sell twice as fast and for twice as much as a coupe provided both cars are in similar condition and similarly equipped. ------------------ MCA Certified Judge, 1965-1966 66 GT coupe A code, Silver Frost 65 coupe modified - the White Knight 66 convert being restored 95 GT convertible/Cobra clone - black with white leather

If the Mach 1 looks like a Mach 1 and isn't brutally customized then I'm sure it'd bring more, especially if its just a non-#'s matching engine/trans rearend. But when people start to add stuff that they like and others don't (you've seen them all at car shows frowning on others customizing work) then I think thats where you encounter selling problems because the car is then suited to a specific sales group. But to me the Mach 1 would always be worth more. Just because its a Mach 1. BTW Welcome to M&M[This message has been edited by Mooney (edited 04-10-2004).]
