Hi everyone,

Just pulled my first oil pan off - so far, so good. I was hoping someone could help me verify which rods, crank and pistons I have in there.

Most of the rods have an S6 but a few are S8 (strange) = 302 ?? It's hard to tell but I think I can see the Ford oval on the rod end.

The crank has a 2M and a 21 stamped on the first counterweight = 302 ?

The only number I can see on the pistons is B175 inside the skirt. I was told they were .030" over when I bought the car but he wasn't the most trustworthy guy.

The only other number I can see is a C122 stamped lightly into the gasket rail on the block. Don't know what this means.

Also, while I'm in there, any suggestions on things to look for ? The timing chain looks to be nice and tight, no ridge or scores in the bores that I can see. I'm going to check torque on the bolts too.

Thanks for the help.

John.

2M is a 302 crank for certain.
There are more numbers on the rods.
Same with the pistons.
