how the heck do you take a 2 speed auto off a 200ci. i removed all four bolts holding it on and two that were holding the top flywheel cover on. i have it so the tranny can move around the motor if it is stationary and it is out of all the pegs from the block but i cant get it off the output shaft from the motor. do i go in there and pry the hell out of it?

Unbolt the torque converter and pry it back towards the trans. It may be just stuck on the pegs. Make sure the starter is out also. I just thought of something, you aren't trying to unbolt trans from bellhousing are you? You should remove the bellhousing to block bolts. I am not sure of how many block bolts you have though. give me an email with your ph# I can call 215 area for free from home RCN Good luck Tom------------------ 67 Mustang F/B 302 GT-40X FMS Crate engine T5, cable clutch conversion Flowmasters X Pipe 4.11 9". Try taking the torque converter off with the transmission. Remove the bolts/nuts from the flex plate. You can turn the engine using the balancer bolt to get all the bolts.

Pull the flex plate you won't be using it on a manual trans. You may want to strat looking for a flywheel for the manual trans.------------------ 67 Mustang F/B 302 GT-40X FMS Crate engine T5, cable clutch conversion Flowmasters X Pipe 3.89 equa loc 9". Should work OK make sure you put a pilot bushing or bearing in the end of the crank Tom

Trashline, You said you are removing a 2 speed trans and installing a 3 speed. Just a hunch here, but are you referring to two automatic transmissions? ------------------ MCA Certified Judge, 1965-1966 66 GT coupe A code, Silver Frost 65 coupe modified - the White Knight 66 convert being restored 95 GT convertible/Cobra clone - black with white leather

Okay, if you've pulled the two engines and transmissions apart you should see that the 3 speed manual trans flywheel is bolted to the crankshaft directly. The c4 automatic (with is also 3 speeds by the way) has the teeth of the ring gear on the torque converter, which is then bolted to the engine via the flexplate. You will need to swap over all the parts, including the spacer plate that goes between the engine block and bellhousing. In addition, like posted above, you will need to add a pilot bushing to the end of your crankshaft to support the front of the manual trans.------------------ MCA Certified Judge, 1965-1966 66 GT coupe A code, Silver Frost 65 coupe modified - the White Knight 66 convert being restored 95 GT convertible/Cobra clone - black with white leather

this trans isnt a c4. it is a two speed falcon tranny. everything should swap fine. all im doing to changing the blocks. take whats off the block i have in the car now and put it on the block thats going in the car. and if anything is bad then it will be repalced right?------------------ 1966 mustang coupe 200ci 3 speed tranny msd 6a ignition, blaster 2 coil, 2 inch exhaust to a glass pac, stock rear,I have the single out header not on yet though, and i have the parts for the cold air intake (homemade). white w/ black interior will eventully have (after years of great prosperity) a 67-69 fastbask (aka dream car)
