Laserchill Gearhead Posts: 108 From: Kernersville, NC Registered: Mar 2004	posted 04-05-2004 08:22 AM Hey guys, It's me again. By the way, thanks for all the help so far on my '68 coupe project. Question: The '66 Fairlane that had the 289 and the C-4 sat for 10 years. The motor needed the work I did to it. New rings and a head job and gaskets, of course. (Thanks Steve). My question is the tranny. Do i need to break the tranny down and do a complete rebuild? The car only had 60,000 miles from the factory and was at 70 mph when it found itself in a cow pasture. The fluid smells like it just came out of the bottle. There again, I don't want to spend money that is not neccessary but I am doing this car right. Thanks again for all the help. You guys are great.
